Ian Paterson serves as Director of Advisory Services for N2Growth Executive Search in Capetown, South Africa. He is strategically located in Cape Town, South Africa, and serves the EMEAA region. As an accomplished strategic change specialist, Ian has facilitated small and large multi-stakeholder groups and is highly experienced in interactive, large scale change methodology, including Real-Time Strategic Change, preferred futuring, open space, appreciative inquiry, the conference model, polarity thinking, and future search – all principle-based approaches to creating fast and lasting change throughout organizations.

Ian is a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of the Free State Business School where he lectures in strategy, strategic change, strategy execution, and organizational design. He has a bachelor’s degree in social science from the University of Cape Town, a postgraduate diploma in management (Human Resources) from the University of the Witwatersrand Business School, and a certificate in organization design from the University of Southern California.
