Reminiscing aside, you bring up some excellent points. However, I’m not terribly sure how you proposes to fix them. You seems to be arguing for “a strategy process that begins with the end in mind” but without going into any detail. Maybe you are holding off for the next post?

In my leadership practice, I have adopted a very effective method based on the idea that businesses exist to make an asset they own and/or control readily utilizable by the customer who as a result reduces the uncertainty in some aspect of their life. With this level of transparency, strategies can be readily built and executed with the contribution of all stakeholders.
