Corporate leadership has evolved to political correctness which is not willing to challenge the status quo for the benefit of the employe or customer. It seems to me, following the norm is rewarded rather than many of the topics to reference in this and many of your other articles. Thank you for our thoughts and hard work.

The ego is driver here and the more ego more issues. Leaders must be confident and assertive but not to be confused with egotistical. IT is a balancing act to be sure but the more self aware the leader is on what the priorities are for the organization and the health of it, the results will speak for themselves.

Thanks Ron:

When those who play at leadership are more valued than those who practice real leadership, we’re all in for a rough ride. Leadership means service above self – not help thyself.

I just finished reading Albert Jay Nock’s ‘Memoirs of a Superfluous Man’ (a real eye-opener). A real leader is nothing but an embarrassment to those whose first concern is for their offices rather than their obligations — since the sum of human motivation is governed by Epstean’s law, Gresham’s law, and the law of diminishing returns. It’s not a pretty picture, but his conclusions square powerfully with what we’re observing in business and politics today.
